The Institute of International Education (IIE) needed a partner to design and implement a multichannel communications and marketing plan for the Fulbright Program’s 75th Anniversary. Eddy Alexander was brought on to create and manage a cohesive, comprehensive 12-month campaign strategy and digital celebration. Click the image to view the entire newsletter from October.


Eddy Alexander designed a wide range of targeted digital ad campaigns, spearheaded new initiatives including the creation of Fulbright graduation regalia, built an anniversary celebration toolkit for alumni and cooperative partners, and designed save the date invitations for a gala held at The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. Another key campaign tactic was crafting detailed monthly newsletters recapping previous month’s activities, outlining special events, and providing specific opportunities for Fulbright alumni, stakeholders, and partners to get involved in the celebration.


Eddy Alexander produced 12 electronic newsletters delivered monthly throughout the 75th anniversary year. Eddy Alexander produced text, sourced photos, and developed an overall strategy to drive maximum engagement. Nearly 34,000 newsletters were distributed. For the year, the newsletter achieved a 28.6% open rate and a 6.54% click through rate. The specific example shown here, the October 2021 edition, reached a 27.2% open rate and a 6.19% click through rate.
